halloween at home

Oh, we had lots of fun singing and dancing in the evening of October 31. Since it was a little drizzling we decided to stay home and did some crazy videos with us singing and dancing like crazy. I wish I could show you how crazy we were that night. My daughter sang and danced to the tune of a perilous song called "Dangerous" while I also did Madonna's "La Isla Bonita". Mark settled for the classics.

That was really fun. We intend to put some of it on our TV show. What do you think? Do we dare show the world our crazy video?

it's a shame

Blogger.com has been amazingly good these days it's a shame not to be able to make regular updates here. It's actually back in its usual tip-top condition, I have no complaints. Problem is, getting on line daily or every other day seems impossible. However, with blogger's efficiency, I may decide to blog here more often.

Today is election of officials in the barangay level in our country. Naturally, it's a holiday coz people are expected to exercise their right of suffrage. But looking at the line-up of people who wanna assume leadership posts just make me forgo that right. It is amazing how anyone, practically anyone, can now run for public office. Are they kidding? Do they really have what it takes to head an office even in the barangay level?

beat this

To guest our Working Moms topic for our Nov. 11 episode are some of the city's gracious and glamorous working moms. How these women are able to find time for themselves inspite of their work as hands-on businesswomen, inspite of motherhood, inspite of marriage would be something they need to share with everybody on our show.

Avon people will also be there to give us some beauty tips (like we have not heard a lot already) as well as give us some info regarding their latest products.

Hmmm....that's for Wednesday morning's taping, Mark and Love will be chatting with these Avon people while the moms will be interviewed by yours truly and Mark.

I guess this blog is going to turn out into a sort of record of what's gonna happen at the set per episode.

busy with a capital B

I've been amiss here for the past few weeks because of our new television show which has kept me up and flying 24/7. The campus hops are scheduled daily in order to accommodate all the campuses in our Campus Stop segment.

Aside from these campus hops, I have to personally move the ads since the people assigned in the marketing department seem to be sleeping. So it's like "ahhhhhh.." putting myself everywhere. My two children focus more on their hosting work and still have to learn the leg work part of the game.

Fortunately, for the past two days that I'd been getting some advertisers to the show, there's never a day that I don't get any. I always end up with two or three advertisers per day which is quite good.

Contacting people for another segment is another concern. Thankfully, we're done taping three episodes and are now preparing for the fourth one. Oh boy.

I never knew life could be this busy.

back off!

Negative thinkers and all those who only see the dark and ugly side of things, spare me! First off, nobody's asking for your opinion, so shut up that big mouth of yours and look at your own self in the mirror. Unless you see someone perfect and spotless there, you don't have the right to say negative things about anyone.

So if you can't see anything good in anyone, you go to hell and be with other losers there coz nobody cares about what you think and what you wanna say. You can grumble and rant in your own little corner but as long as I hold the microphone, your rant will sound like stupid meaningless gongs. Loser! Go, find your niche, and MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

Life would be a lot better without losers like you.

blogger is 108 years old!

Olive Riley has been dubbed as the "oldest blogger in the world". She recently celebrated her 108th birthday in a nursing home in Australia. Amazing woman, isn't she? 108 years old and still blogging! Can you beat that? I just wish I could follow her path.

Meanwhile we have taped the second episode of our TV show and it was good. I think we're getting better. We'll be posting the first episode on Youtube, so do watch for that one.

And hey, need some visibility to your product, service, site, or blog? We do advertising at low, low rates it's like a give-away. You can contact me here, just give me a comment.

WARNING; stay away from my dog!

If there is any dog to be included in Guinness for having the most number of humans bitten, then it would be our dog Pongping. I don't know why this dog is allergic to strangers. He literally eats people if you don't escape from his fangs. There had been times in the past when we wanted to put him down but thought against it because he's good to us but fierce only with strangers. We had to cage him or tie him up so people could come to the house. But never let anyone pass near him for he will surely snap and tear at your skin.

I learned that Japanese Spitz is really like that that is why they are used as guard dogs in Japan because they really work like you're paying them to guard your house.

One time one of my helpers was attacked and bitten by Pongping because she went too close to it. She wanted to run or escape but the fierce dog had gotten hold of her shorts and buried his sharp teeth everywhere on her body.

Of course, we had to rush the victim to the hospital for treatment.

So in case you're thinking of coming over to the house, beware, don't go near my dog!

Online harassment

Note: This is giving my support to my son's call to fight the negative phenomenon of online harassment. This article was taken from his site.

Online harassment

A couple of weeks ago, I started receiving threats and defamatory remarks on this blog from a person who hides under the name Micah. This person comes to my blog everyday just to give derogatory comments. Moderation can only do so much, and the time spent reading threats can eventually take a toll on the enthusiasm of the blogger. It's a tough call.. I don't know who this person is, and judging by the things he says, he doesn't know me either. He hates my blog and feels the need to bring my morale down every single day.

I once promised my friend Thad that in a situation like this I will be the bigger person. Ignoring the comments worked for a while, but as of three days ago, my worst fear happened -- I started getting grave threats: "I can't wait to come to Dumaguete and have you nailed on the cross!", he announced. It's scary because my home address and my sister's cellphone number were once posted on this blog for business purposes.

Online harassment is real.

I am not alone in receiving hate and violence directed against himself through blogs. Countless bloggers throughout the world fall victim to online bullying everyday. Comments are usually anonymous with no urls or working emails. These perpetrators take advantage of the fact that they think they know you, but you don't know them. This gives them a sense of power.

This is especially true here in the Philippines, where the emergence of rascals with little regard for online civility is rampant. When I started blogging, I intended it to be a journal, an online diary. I, as a blogger, have the right to talk about my life. If you don't believe in veganism or have preconceived notions about me, you don't have to come here at all.

The bigotry is not necessary.

I never approved any of the comments. My blog is a celebration of life and health, and how veganism made me a better person. I also made a lot of friends in the blogging world -- a fact he does not like. In fact it led him to start posting rude comments on Ian's and my mom's blogs as well. This guy has some very serious problems.

What can one do? Today, Ian told me that it's time to act. He sent me a link to an article about online harassment that we can use. We need to save everything from now on. And then we can report to the proper authorities. I also texted my friend, ABS-CBN reporter RG Cruz, just in case I'm going to need his help or advice.

I am hoping that this article will help someone else. If no one writes about the reality of online harassment, more and more innocent bloggers will be victimized.

Get the word out. Blog about my story.

fans? or jealous monkeys?

Some people are just so unhappy that they do things to give others an ounce of their misery. I am referring to cowards or online harassers who leave nasty comments on people's blogs hoping to rub off some of of their bad luck on others. LOSERS! You are just so pathetic! Don't you have family and friends to give you some appreciation so you don't go around giving people a bad day? It is obvious that no one appreciates you---not even your mother, so you back off because dropping anonymous bad comments on people's blogs only makes you even more pathetic.

Expect more bad luck to happen to you, loser! And actually, for visiting my son's blog EVERYDAY, as in REGULARLY to do nothing but give an anonymous threat, only tells everyone the truth and which you yourself do not realize, that you are just another FAN of his. Admit it and deal with it. Stop thinking and feeling venomous. You just have too much hatred in you, man or woman, whoever you are, your anger will soon turn against you.

Do you believe in karma? Look it up. It is time that you do. It does happen. Trust me. Evil never triumphs.

short ,short dress gets lady off her seat

A lady recently was told to get off the plane because the plane was a family plane and she, according to the officer, was "not dressed appropriately".

This is just plain insane. Imagine missing your flight because of a short skirt. I didn't know that planes also have dress codes.

I do not know what to say to this, but if the lady were a doctor and had to be in that flight for a very crucial medical mission she had to do in another state, her patient would have waited in vain all because of a short skirt.

Moralists say that they found the length of her skirt offensive so they requested that she not be allowed to take that flight. Huh?

There are so many offensive or annoying things around us and if we report every one of them, we'd asking half of the passengers to get off the plane.

I think there is some sort of unfairness in the way the lady was treated.

limited

That is why TV programming in this part of the country has never taken off----we lack the necessary technology to make things happen. Oh boy. What you see is nothing but one or two persons talking and nothing more. They could not record singing and dancing in that studio for they do not have the facility----and it is true of all television networks in this city. We are only equipped with one camera in the studio and if you have a show in there, you just have to be glued to where you are because that is the only thing the cameraman can do. Oh boy. I think my dream is starting to collapse before it has even started.

at last, a dream comes true

My dream of producing my own TV show is going to be a reality. Don't fall from your chair now. You heard it right. I am going to host random, a once-a-week television talk and variety show which will be aired every Sunday at 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. The show will feature students and all sorts of people. Do watch out for this one.

a native who does not know his national anthem....

What? Was this singer born and raised in another planet that he does not know the lyrics of his national anthem?

A popular singer embarrassed his country and his countrymen when he skipped some lines while singing the national anthem of his country. It was not like he had only native audiences. He was singing it to an audience composed of foreigners from different countries. Was he perhaps doing this for free? If so, just the same he should have practiced and gotten hold of the lyrcis before doing it to a multitude of people.

But if this guy was paid to do it, then he should have at least practiced what he had to do. It's a disgrace not to know fully your national anthem when all eyes and ears are on you? The excuse to err is human and to forgive divine" does not cleanse nor purge the grave mistake of not knowing.
